Acting president Heinz Fischer starts election campaign

The acting federal president Heinz Fischer starts in the election campaign for his reelection. Fischer told that Austrians should not vote invalid. He is afraid that many votes are going to be lost, because the Peoples party resigned to choose a candidate for this election.

The acting predisent was talking about a society which should not drift apart, and that he would be the right person for such a job. “The common thread is more important as the separator”, he said, and explained that “solidarity and performance are no contrasts.” Fischer also thinks that Austria needs a better outlook for young people. He worries about disenchantment with politics and promised he is not going to search for quarrel and won’t be a busy-body in his second term.

The Freedom party, who has its own candidate, criticised Fischer for his election campaign opening. Freedom party general secretary Herbert Kickl said that Fischers panic was obvious. He also labeled Fischer as “permanent handshaker” with a “cumulative emptiness”. “A Socialist apparatchik and bare-knuckled lobbyist who stands for patronizingly politics”, confirmed the Freedom party man.
