Austrias Freedom party is involved in a new scandal. An advertising brochure with comics was sent to every household in Vienna. In that brochure a small Austrian boy was instigated to throw stones at a man called “Mustafa”. Afterwards he received a hot sausage with mustard as reward.
The comic story takes reference to Viennas last siege of the Turkish army in the 17th century. Yesterday Freedom party leader Strache labeled this comic in a TV interview as “funny”. The TV presenter who criticized the whole story was labeled by Strache as “humorless”.
Strache don’t wanted to confirm that the comic should motivate Austrian children to execute violence against immigrants from Turkey. Strache explains that “comics are always oversubscribed.” Strache also said that there is also violence in Asterix comics.
